Types of Heating Systems that are Financed By Renewable Heat Initiative (RHI)

If you are about to renovate your home or commercial building with renewable sources heating systems, Renewable Heat Initiative (RHI) from the government is financial aid that will help you not to spend so much on installation costs.  These are the heating systems that use renewable sources of energy which Renewable Heat Initiative (RHI) offers financial support.

The government offers financial support through the provision of Renewable Heat Initiative (RHI) to homeowners and businesses that require a wood-fuelled biomass boiler. A biomass wood-fuelled boiler uses wood chips, wood pellets or logs to heat water through the radiators and hot water cylinders for domestic and industrial use. A biomass wood-fuelled boiler emits low amounts of carbon because wood fuel is used, unlike fossil fuels that produce a lot of carbon.

Wood fuel extraction does not damage the environment because it is generated from woodlands that are well managed to prevent too much deforestation, unlike fossil fuel that cannot be renewed. You can use the locally available wood which is reliable.  There is no smoke that is released from a biomass boiler.  The cost of electricity, oil and gas is higher than that of wood and logs.

The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) encourages industries and homes to install ground source heat pumps because it offers financial aid.  The source of heat in summer and heat sink area in winter is the ground on which the building is standing.  In winter, ground source heat pump supplies heat to the building from the underground heat source and allows heat from the building to be stored underground in summer. Head over to this site to know more.

A ground source heat pump uses solar energy stored beneath the building provide a carbon-free way of heating buildings.  The ground source heat pumps cool the building in summer.  Ground source heat pumps are automated; hence they require less work than biomass wood fuelled boilers to operate.  Running electricity heating systems, oil boilers and gas boilers costs higher than running costs of ground source heat pumps.  You do not need to plan for the installation of the ground source heat pump because it is safe, unobtrusive, silent and out-of-sight.

The government offers Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) for those who need solar water heating systems to be installed in their homes and commercial buildings.  Solar energy will always be available; thus you will avoid paying for electricity, water, wood, oil and gas sources of heat. Solar thermal panels need less space than Solar PV panels for installation, and they are also cost-effective because two to three panels are enough.  Carbon is not released from solar thermal heaters.
